India's Somdev Devvarman has booked a place in the main draw of the US Open Tennis tournament, which begins on Monday at New York.In the qualifying third round, Somdev defeated Briton James Ward, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4, in two hours and 15 minutes. Somdev will face Slovakia's Lukas Lacko in the opening round of the main draw. Lacko is placed 28 slots above Somdev in the ATP rankings at 85.In the first three Grand Slams of the season, Somdev had to the second round of the Australian Open and the French Open, while he bowed out in the Qualifiers at Wimbledon.
