Somdev Devvarman enters singles SF of ONGC-GAIL Delhi Tennis Open

Somdev Devvarman reached the men's singles semifinal of the ONGC-GAIL Delhi Tennis Open in New Delhi today after his rival Ze Zhang of China retired mid-way. Somdev had pocketed the first set 6-2 when Zhang's shoulder did not let him continue, sending Somdev into his third consecutive semifinal, having reached the stage in Chennai and Kolkata events earlier. The unseeded Indian pair of Sanam Singh and Saketh Myneni stormed into men's doubles semi-final with a comfortable 6-3, 6-2 win over Kazakhstan's Aleksandr Nedovyesov and Spain's Adrian Menendez-Maceiras. In the women's singles quarterfinals, India's number one player Ankita Raina bowed out of the women's event in Delhi Open, losing 3-6, 5-7 to Yulia Beygelzimer of Ukraine.
