Somdev Devvarman's French Open adventure ended when he lost a topsy-turvy first round match against Swiss Marco Chiudinelli at Roland Garros in Paris. Somdev, who became the first Indian to make it to the singles main draw in 13 years, lost 3-6, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, 3-6 in a gruelling three hours and 38 minute clash. In another match , local favourite Jo-Wilfried Tsonga laboured past unheralded German Daniel Brands to reach the second round with a marathon 4-6 6-3 6-2 6-7 7-5 win.Earlier, in the Women's section, Svetlana Kuznetsova and Dominica Cibulkova have entered the second round by beating their respetive rivals. In the Men's singles, Marin Cilic has advanced to the second round.
