In his Men's Singles pre-quarterfinal match, Somdev lost to fourth seed Juan Martin Del Potro of Argentina, in straight sets, 4-6, 4-6.In the other pre-quarterfinal matches, Czech Tomas Berdych, Nikolay Davydenko of Russia, German Daniel Brands and Andreas Seppi of Italy today defeated their respective opponents to advance into the Men's Singles last-eight stage.World Number One Novak Djokovic of Serbia and Switzerland's World Number Two Roger Federer are yet to play their pre-quarterfinal matches today. While Djokovic will take on Spaniard Roberto Bautista, Federer will meet another Spaniard, Marcel Granollers.Meanwhile, the Indo-French pair of Mahesh Bhupathi and Michael LLodra and the Indo-American pair of Rohan Bopanna and Rajeev Ram will begin their Men's Doubles campaign today. Bhupathi and Llodra will clash with the Serbian pair of Janko Tipseravic and Viktor Troicki, while Bopanna and Ram will play against the second seeded Pak-Dutch combination of Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and Jean-Julien Roger. The winners will advance into the Men's Doubles quarterfinals.
