Somdev Devvraman earned a hard-fought straight-set win over qualifier Mikhail Ledovskikh to advance to the second round of the ATP Malaysian Open in Kuala Lumpur. Playing his first match after suffering a shoulder strain during India's Davis Cup tie against Japan, Somdev battled past the Russian rival Mikhail Ledovskikh 7-6, 6-4 after one hour and 39 minutes in the opening round. Somdev will now faces world number 60 Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus.
