India's Somdev Devvarman advanced to the second round of the Farmers Classic singles event going on in Los Angeles, USA.. Somdev defeated his American opponent Steve Johnson 6-4 6-4. He will now face sixth seed and World Number 45, Serbian, Janko Tipsaveric in the second round.Somdev is currently ranked 103 in the world rankings. India's Davis Cupper, Rohan Bopanna is competing in the doubles draw along with Pakistani partner, Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi.
