In Somalia, four guards of a hotel killed when the militants stormed the International Village Hotel in the port city of Bosasso yesterday. The Governor of Bari region,Yusuf Mohamed, said three al-Shabab fighters stormed the hotel in the capital of the semi-autonomous Puntland region and killed four guards.<br/><br/> He said two of the attackers also killed, while the third fighter escaped. Until 2011, the al Qaeda-linked al Shabaab controlled most of Somalia including the capital, Mogadishu. However, in the past two years, African Union and Somali Government forces have forced al Shabaab out of important urban strongholds but it remains active from bases in rural areas.<br/>Meanwhile, Somalia's lawmakers are due to elect a President later today in Mogadishu. A traffic ban has been imposed and major roads sealed off, ahead of a Presidential vote. More than 20 candidates including the incumbent President Hassan Sheikh Mohamudare are in the fray
