In US, five Somalians have been sentenced to life followed by a consecutive 80 years in prison for engaging in piracy and related offenses. All the five pirates were accused of piracy, attack to plunder a US Ship Nicholas, act of violence against persons on a vessel and assault with a dangerous weapon.Attorney Neil MacBride in a statement today's sentences should send a clear message to pirates that Armed attacks on US-flagged vessels carry severe consequences in US courts.
