Somali pirates release Kuwaiti tanker

Somali pirates have released a Kuwaiti owned crude oil tanker with 29 crew members. A regional maritime official said the pirates were paid 12 million dollars to release the ship. The MV Zirku was captured in the Gulf of Aden while sailing to Singapore from Sudan in March. The pirates have hijacked dozens of ships and made hundreds of millions of dollars in ransom payments in the past few years.
