Somali pirates hijack South Korean oil tanker

Somali pirates have hijacked a South Korean oil tanker in the Indian Ocean. Seoul's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade said the Marshall Islands-registered 300,000-ton ship, "Samho Dream", was on its way from Iraq to Louisiana of the United States, when it was seized by the pirates this afternoon. It said there are a total of 24 crew members onboard, including five South Koreans and 19 Filipinos. The ministry said it held an emergency meeting to discuss related measures.
