Solve problems of veterans, families of servicemen in time bound manner: Parrikar

Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar has stressed on the need to solve the problems of veterans and families of servicemen in a time bound manner. <br/><br/>Inaugurating the 30th Meeting of Kendriya Sainik Board in New Delhi today, Mr Parrikar said, special attention by the Centre and State governments towards welfare of the families of Ex-Servicemen and Serving soldiers is crucial.<br/><br/>Underlining some of the welfare measures for Ex-Servicemen and their dependents, the Minister said, the government has revised the marriage grant for two daughters of Ex-Serviceman from 16,000 rupees to 50,000 rupees with effect from 1st of April this year. <br/><br/>He said that the amount under Prime Minister Scholarship Scheme for boys has also been hiked from 15,000 rupees to 24,000 rupees per annum, while for girls, the same has been revised from 18,000 rupees to 27,000 rupees per annum.
