Maharashtra Environment Minister Aaditya Thackeray has informed that the soil testing work at Kanjurmarg plot for setting up metro car depot has begun. In a tweet, Mr. Thackeray said, the plot has been officially handed over to Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority-MMRDA, that is in charge of the Metro project.<br />''<br />''Mr. Thackeray added that car depots of Metro Line 3 and 6 will be built in Kanjurmarg, which will increase connectivity. The proposed Metro 3 route is from Colaba in south Mumbai to Seepz via suburban Bandra while the Line 6 will connect suburban Vikhroli with Lokhandwala. A. Rajeev informed the State Cabinet that the estimated cost of shifting the car shed will be more than 200 crore rupees. He said that the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation will have to prepare a revised detailed project report for Metro-3 and will have to take the Centre's approval for revised cost. The Centre has 50 per cent share in Mumbai's Metro project.</span><br />
