An eight member survey of India (SOI) team began their field work at Kaverirajapuram village in Tamil Nadu’s Tiruvallur district, as part of their independent probe into the alleged encroachment of over 400 acres of Government land by Karnataka High court Chief Justice PD Dinakaran.<br/><br/>Official sources told AIR Chennai correspondent, that team did a preliminary survey of the area. The team was led by Mr Sanjay Kumar, Member Secretary, Survey of India, Lucknow and also included a few technical staff.<br/>The sources further said the team has come along with high precision GPS Equipment will do a sophisticated land mapping of the entire village particicularly the disputed land allegedly encroached upon by the Judge. <br/><br/>The team which had began the probe in Chennai last week headed by Major General Shivakumar had said that they would submit their report to the Department of science and technology, which had commissioned the survey under the directions of the supreme court collegium , in the wake of the land grab charges.
