<span style="color: #222222;">Veteran social activist Pushpa Bhave was cremated in Mumbai this morning at Shivaji Park Cemetery without any religious rites. She passed away in Mumbai last night following a prolonged illness. She was 81. Along with Chief Minister Uddhav Thackerey and Dy. Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, many social activists  expressed grief over the sad demise. She has been associated with the Rashtra Seva Dal and democratic movements since her student days. She was also an academician and an intellectual, who fought for the rights of common citizens. She had taken part in the Samyukta Maharashtra movement and the Goa liberation movement. During the Emergency, she had offered her home as shelter to underground political workers. '</span><br />
