Snow plays havoc in France; over 2000 stranded people evacuated from airport terminal

In France, about 2,000 people were evacuated from Paris Charles de Gaulle airport today due to accumulation of snow on the roof of a terminal. French state radio reported that passengers were moved from Terminal 2E to other parts of airport. Emergency workers were deployed to clear the roof. French authorities earlier asked airlines to cancel half their flights to and from the airport because de-icing fluid is running low. They said, Paris is expecting freezing temperatures. About 400 flights were scrapped today. Charles de Gaulle is the second busiest airport in Europe, after Heathrow in London. Airports in Europe are still struggling to get passengers to their destinations after they were snarled by unexpected snow over the weekend.
