In Kargil Ladakh, for the first time in history the snow clearance work on the strategic National Highway-1D connecting the Union Territory of Ladakh with that of Jammu and Kashmir has been completed today.<br />'' <br />''Deputy Commissioner Baseer Ul Haq Chowdhary confirmed the news while talking to AIR Correspondent. Mr Chowdhary said that the snow clearance has been completed and the advisory for traffic movement will be issued shortly.<br />'' <br />''It is pertinent to mention here that after Ladakh Became UT, the Administration has been trying to keep the National Highway open for the maximum period as the road was closed for traffic on 31st of December and within a gap of less than two months the road was cleared to open for traffic.<br />'' <br />''Meanwhile, the District Administration has tried to keep the Kargil Zanskar Road NH-1D connecting Zanskar Sub-Division with rest of Ladakh open for maximum period and the road was opened in both January and February for traffic.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">People appreciated the efforts of Border Roads Organization both Project Vijayak from Kargil Side and Project Beacon from Srinagar Side.</span><br />
