SNBNCBS, Kolkata develops active respirator mask for comfortable and hygienic breathing

S.N. Bose National Centre For Basic Sciences, SNBNCBS, Kolkata, has developed an active respirator mask with attached exhalation valve and filter against suspended-particles for comfortable and hygienic breathing.&nbsp;<br />”<br />”The active respirator mask is an innovative solution to the problem of rebreathing of carbon dioxide and exhaled moisture, inside the mask. It also protects mask wearers from exposure to airborne contaminants.<br />”&nbsp;<br />”Besides this, a nano-sanitizer with an antimicrobial dispensing layer has also been developed by the centre. This innovative sanitizer is a solution to dehydration of skin due to frequent use.&nbsp;<br />”<br />”Both&nbsp; products have been devised by Professor Samir K. Pal and his group under the leadership of Director of the Centre Professor Samit Kumar Ray.&nbsp;<br />”<br />”<span style="color: #222222;">The two products have been transferred by the National Research Development Corporation to a Kolkata based company for manufacturing. Both the products will be launched on the 15th of the next month.</span><br />
