Mrs. Vijaya Kanth is the new Financial Commissioner (FC) Railways and ex-officio Secretary to the Government of India. An official release said that she assumed her charge on 26th of this month.

Prior to her appointment as FC in Railway Board, Mrs. Kanth was General Manager, Northeast Frontier Railway (Construction) Organization, Guwahati. A 1975 batch officer from Indian Railway Account Service (IRAS) worked in different capacities in Southern Railway/Open Line and Construction and Konkan Railway before the present assignment.
