Union Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani suggested anywhere, anytime PhD programme and mentoring programme as an effort to encourage women to pursue higher education. She was speaking at the inaugural function of 5th Women Science Congress in Mysore today. Women Science Congress is organized as part of National Science Congress. Due to domestic compulsions women discontinue their studies.<br/><br/>To create a conducive enabling atmosphere, the minister suggested that women should be offered an opportunity to pursue Phd anytime and anywhere. She also called upon senior women scientists in the country to mentor girls to pursue higher learning. The HRD minister also mentioned that Central Government has introduced Rashtriya Aavishkar Vigyan for school children and Unnat Bharat Abhiyan for introducing scientific and technical solutions for the development of villages.
