Information and Broadcasting Minister Smriti Irani on Tuesday, said counselling of parents and family members of Divyang jan is very important. Addressing Inclusive India Initiative-2017 in New Delhi, she said the career counselling for Divyang jan should also be given due importance. Mrs Irani said, Prime Minister's Mudra Yojana should also be used for the purpose. She assured all support and cooperation of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting including Doordarshan and All India Radio for publicizing all the welfare schemes related to Divyang jans. Educational institutions nationwide including those in rural areas should also be sensitized about the welfare measures for the Divyang jans. <br/><br/>Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Thaawarchand Gehlot said the government is fully committed to the welfare of Divyang jans and several new initiatives have been taken for their welfare during last three years. Inclusion of people with Intellectual and Developmental disabilities (IDDs) in the fabric of society is essential and can only be achieved with a higher level of commitment.
