Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting and Textiles Smriti Jubin Irani has criticized the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for terming demonetisation as national tragedy. <br/><br/>Talking to media persons at Lucknow, she underlining the achievements of the demonetisation saying it was a historical decision against the black money and corruption. <br/><br/>She said suspicious transactions of one lakh 60 thousand core to one lakh 70 thousand crore have been detected after demonetisation and probe agencies are investigating such transactions.<br/><br/>She said that Income Tax department has registered 38 percent hike in the identification of undisclosed income during its searches and 41 percent increase during surveys. <br/><br/>Similarly above 34 percent more tax payers have filed their self-assessment after demonetisation. Irani also said that after demonetisation two lakhs 24 thousand shell companies have been identified and all of them have been closed. <br/><br/>She said previous UPA regime was known only for corruption, scams of coal, 2G and commonwealth games but Modi government has taken strict action over black money and corruption.<br/><br/>Replying to a question over action against Robert Vadra for his alleged corrupt practices Smt. Irani said investigation agencies are on their job to collect evidences against him and they will take action at appropriate time.
