BJP leader and Union Minister Smriti Irani today asked Congress to explain its stand on the recent revelation by a private detective Michael Hershman in the Bofors Case. Briefing media in New Delhi this evening, Ms Irani said, the country wants to know the truth of Bofors case and Congress cannot conveniently keep quiet on this. <br/><br/>She said, Hershman in his interview to a TV channel has said that he was offered bribes for arms deal through Pakistan links and he was threatened not to proceed with the investigation.<br/><br/> Ms Irani said, Michael Hershman's interview exposes Pakistani connection to Bofors payoffs. She said, Congress should tell the nation that who was the Pakistani agent who met former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. <br/>'<br/>Earlier, Central Bureau of Investigation, CBI said, facts and circumstances as mentioned in interview of Hershman on Bofors will be looked into by it. CBI Spokesperson Abhishek Dayal said, it has learnt of matter pertaining to Bofors, aired on a TV channel containing Hershman's interview. <br/>'<br/>In the interview, Hershman, who is also the President and CEO of the Fairfax Group, a risk management firm, had mentioned about bribery in the Bofors case. He had also said that he was offered bribes to stop investigation.
