External Affairs Minister SM Krishna will meet Israeli President Shimon Peres and the Foreign Minister Avigador Liebermann today.

Mr Krishna arrived in Tel Aviv yesterday on a three-day visit to Israel. He will also visit holocaust memorial and an Indian hospice in Jerusalem.

The visit has come at a time when the two nations are commemorating two decades of the going strong relationship between India and Israel in 2012.

This is the first visit to Israel by an Indian Foreign Minister in 11 years.

During his visit, the External Affairs Minister will hold talks with the Israeli President Shimon Peres, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Foreign Minister Avigador Liebermann among others.

The Focus is on increased co-operation in Anti terror measures and bilateral trade and commerce between the two countries.

Extradition treaty and transfer of sentenced persons are the two important agreements likely to be signed during the visit.

After the visit to Israel, the External Affairs Minister will go to Ramallah to meet the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Wednesday.
