Mumbai and parts of its suburbs are experiencing light but continuous rainfall since this morning. According to the MET Department, till 5.30 am the Colaba station of south Mumbai recorded 22.6 mm of rainfall while the suburban Santacruz station recorded 32.4 mm of rainfall. According to the civic body control room, there are no reports of water logging from any part of the city as of now. Road and rail traffic is also running normally. According to the MET Department intermittent rain or showers would occur in parts of city & suburbs. Heavy rain accompanied by strong gusty winds is also likely to occur in some areas. Meanwhile, rainfall has slowed down in other parts of Maharashtra. Due to heavy rains yesterday, 8 trains of today and tomorrow on Konkan route have been cancelled. In Raigad district all the major rivers including Savitri, Gandhari, Amba and Kundalika, are flowing with full capacity. The weather bureau has advised fishermen across the state not to go out in the sea during next 24 hours as sea will be rough to very rough.Meanwhile, in Uttar Pradesh the flood situation is improved in certain Terai districts but the situation has worsened in Bijnore district due to heavy inflow of water from neighbouring Uttarakhand. AIR Correspondent reports that the road traffic remains disrupted on Najibabad-Haridwar and Delhi-Pauri highway. Meanwhile the state government has given additional 6 crore rupees to 20 flood prone districts to launch relief work.
