Pre-monsoon showers cooled Delhi today, giving residents a much-awaited relief.<br/><br/>The temperature, which was hovering around the high 30s yesterday, plunged to 26 degrees Celsius today following the rains. However, the MeT Department said the rains are not monsoon showers and that the monsoon is expected to hit the capital only next week.<br/><br/>The night temperature also settled at a comfortable 25.5 C against 30.5 degrees yesterday.<br/><br/>Palam recorded an overnight rainfall of 29.9 mm. The national capital faced scorching heat for most parts of June when it recorded a monthly rainfall deficit of -19 per cent.
