Slew of farmer schemes to make TN pioneering state: Jaya

Tamilnadu Chief Minister Ms.Jayalalithaa says, she aims to make the state as a pioneer in the country by introducing a slew of innovative schemes for the benefit of the farmers living in the State.In a suo moto statement at the Assembly today,Ms.Jayalalithaa told that women living in the villages would be trained in post harvest and preserving technologies under the Amma Farm upgradation scheme at a cost of Rs.113 crore. Another project envisages to distribute certified seeds at reasonable rates through the Tamilnadu state seed development agency which is to be set up at a cost of Rs. 156 crore. The state government will also set up three agro based research centres and also create 150 eco friendly integrated pest management villages. Another project aims to train ten thousand village youth in another ten years by the Agriculture capacity enhancement scheme.
