The Obama administration has strengthened the US' relationship with India in the last eight years, the State Department has said. US has exuded the confidence that ties would continue to chart the same trajectory under the administration of President-elect Donald Trump. <br/><br/>State Department Deputy Spokesman Mark Toner said he is of the view that in terms of where that relationship goes, the sky is the limit, both economically and security wise. <br/><br/>He said new administration was clearly recognising of the importance that India plays not just in the region but in the global mix. Toner was referring to the comments made by Trump at an event in New Jersey some two weeks before the November 8 presidential election. <br/><br/>The spokesman said India is resource-rich and it is playing an outsized<br/>role in global issues. US-India relations have been strengthened throughout these past eight years of the Obama administration, he said.<br/>
