Skill devpt & job scheme for rural youth & women in naxal affected districts launched

The Central government today launched a new skill development and job placement scheme ROSHINI, for rural youth and women in 24 most critically left wing extremism afffected districts.

Launching the scheme in New Delhi Rural Development Minister, Mr. Jairam Ramesh said, under the scheme 50,000 youth including 25,000 women will be trained and provided job offer letters in 3 years.

He said at least 50 per cent of the candidates will be women and the scheme will proactively include vulnerable Tribal groups on priority basis. The beneficiaries of the scheme will be between 18 to 35 years.

Mr. Ramesh said 100 crore rupees would be spent from the budget of the National Rurual livelihood mission in the next three years.

He said the expenses of the scheme will be shared on a 75 is to 25 per cent ratio between the centre and the state. The ROSHNI Scheme has already been tried out in Sukma, West Singbhum districts.
