<br/>Over 60 people were rushed to JJ hospital in Mumbai after inhaling Chlorine gas leaking from a cylinder near the Mumbai Port Trust (MBT) in Sewri area early morning today. The condition of six of them is said to be serious. They have reported burning sensation and respiratory problems and have been put in the intensive care unit. Fourteen students from the nearby Lal Bahadur Shastri College are also among the victims. Dean of JJ Hospital, P P Lahane said that out of the 60 affected 14 were sent home after examination.<br/><br/>Uday Tatkare, Chief Fire Officer said that the gas leak occurred from some old gas cylinder placed below various cylinders, seized by customs authorities, in a scrap yard in the MBT premises. Tatkare said the gas leak was noticed around 4 a.m. this morning when the victims started complaining of burning eyes, breathlessness and nausea. Following the complaint, fire officials were rushed to the spot to plug the leakage. However, four of them also took ill and have been rushed to nearby hospitals.<br/><br/>He also informed that as a precautionary measure, people residing in and around the area have been evacuated. A probe is on as to what led to the leakage.
