The Sixth edition of World Telecommunications Development Conference, WTDC gets underway at World Trade Center in Dubai . The 10 day long event has been organized by the International Telecommunications Union, ITU the apex global telecom body under the United Nations. The objective of the event is to develop programmes and guidelines for telecommunication development and the priorities over the next four-year period. It will also provide an opportunity to exchange views on the trends, challenges and opportunities of the telecom/ICT sector. A high level delegation from India led by the Telecom Secretary is attending the conference.
