Six villagers killed by Naxals in Chhattisgarh

Naxalites have killed six villagers including a Sarpanch in the Rajnandgaon district of Chattisgarh, on Saturday. The police have however not recovered the dead bodies yet. <br/><br/>According to police sources, Naxalities have abducted about a dozen villagers of Tere gaon under Manpur police station a couple of days ago. <br/><br/>They released some of them while killing six persons which include the Surpanch on the suspicion of their being police informer. The police are investigating into the case.<br/><br/>Addressing media persons in Rajnandgaon this evening, IG Police Mr Mukesh Gupta told that the naxalites had abducted about a dozen villagers from the Manpur police station area of the Rajnandgaon district a couple of days ago. He said that they left about half of them and killed the rest six villagers, which included a Sarpanch and a secretary of a local tendu leaf society. <br/><br/>The bodies were recovered from Unchapur area bordering Maharastra. The victims belong to 4 different villages. It is said that the naxalites killed these villagers suspecting them to be police informers. <br/><br/>On the other hand, the highy naxal affected Dantewada district in the state on Sunday saw the killing of two naxalites by the police in an encounter and the burning down of three vehicles including a government jeep by the naxalites. <br/><br/>
