Six soldiers killed, six injured in southern Thailand Attack

In Thailand, six soldiers were killed and six others wounded when nearly 20 militants stormed a military outpost in Rangae district of the troubled southern Narathiwat province last night. Reports said the militants entered through the main gate of the army camp and opened fire at the soldiers guarding the entrance. The unit commander had to call for reinforcements as the gun battle continued. While retreating, the insurgents also set fire to two army residences and took away some army ammunition with them.
