In Brazil, six people died on Thursday in a small plane crash in Manaus in northern Amazonas state. According to the authorities, the crash occurred some 15 minutes after the takeoff. The plane crashed into an area that belongs to a seminary and blew up. No one on the ground was injured in the accident. The authorities said that the plane, reportedly a Seneca, belonged to local air Charter Company. It was headed to the small town of Maues, some 356 kilometers from Manaus, carrying five staffers from Amazonas State's Education Secretariat. The crash killed all on board, including the pilot.
