In Pakistan, at least six militants were killed and several others injured when a US drone fired missiles targeting an insurgent hideout in an area in Pakistan's North Waziristan tribal region. The drone fired two missiles at a house and a vehicle in Dargah Mandi area, several kilometres north of Miranshah. The attack came hours after FBI chief Robert Mueller arrived in Islamabad for talks on the war against terror.A missile strike in the same area last week had killed Mohammad Haqqani, the brother of Afghan warlord Sirajuddin Haqqani and the target hit on Wednesday was also frequented by his fighters. The US attacks come as Pakistani security agencies have captured three top Taliban commanders in recent weeks, including their number two Mulla Abdul Ghani Baradar.
