Six killed as bridge collapses in Rajasthan

In Rajasthan,rescue operation is going on at Kota where a bridge under construction over Chambal river collapsed yesterday. six persons were killed and seven injured in this accident. More than 50 people including some engineers are trapped in the debris. Injured persons have been admitted in a private hospital of Kota. Relief and rescue operation is going on with the help of Army and other agencies and senior Police and administrative officials are present at the site. The Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot also reached at site and instructed officials he met with injured persons also in the hospital.The State govt. has announced an exgratia payment of two lakh rupees each for the next of kin of those killed and one lakh for the injured. The accident occurred when 35 meter long steel structure of the under construction bridge over Chambal river on NH 76 was collapsed. The state govt has announced an inquiry of this accident by divisional commissioner of Kota. Case of criminal negligence has also registered against 2 companies constructing the bridgeand 2 top officials of both the construction companies arrested today.
