In China, six people were killed and 12 others injured today in a coal mine gas accident in the southwest Guizhou Province. A spokesman of the provincial work safety bureau said thirty-five people were working in the coal mine in Zunyi City when the accident happened. He said twenty-two people escaped from the accident. The spokesman said one worker missing was later found dead in the mine and of the injured, five died while being taken to hospital. Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
