In Afghanistan, at least six people have been injured after a car bomb exploded outside a hotel in the centre of the southern city of Kandahar. Witnesses said the blast had shattered the windows of the four-storey Noor Jehan Hotel, where many Afghan journalists are based. Police at the scene said it was unclear if it was a suicide attack.
