In Kolkata, six out of the eight accused in the Kamduni gang-rape case were pronounced guilty by a city sessions court. CJM Sanchita Sarkar acquitted two of the accused, which led to agitation in the court complex today. The quantum of punishment will be pronounced tomorrow.<br/><br/>A B.A. second year student was gang-raped and murdered inside an isolated compound at Kamduni village in North 24-Paraganas district in June 2013. The girl was returning home from her college. Her badly brutalised body was found the next day. <br/><br/>In all, nine persons were arrested in this case. One of the arrested persons died of fever and septicaemia in August last year.<br/><br/>All India Democratic Students' Organisation activists staged a protest over this case earlier today, demanding severe punishment for the accused.
