Six Amarnath pilgrims from Jalandhar killed in road accident

Six Amarnath pilgrims hailing from Jullundur, Punjab were killed and two others injured when their vehicle skidded off the road and plunged into a 200 meter deep gorge near Ramsu on Jammu-Srinagar national highway in Ramban district of Jammu province this afternoon. <br/><br/>The vehicle met with the accident when the driver lost control over the vehicle as a tyre burst while negotiating a curve. <br/><br/>Four of the pilgrims died on the spot and two succumbed to injuries on the way to Banihal hospital. The vehicle was a part of today's batch of 85 vehicles which left from the base camp of Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu this morning for onward journey to cave shrine of Amarnath in south Kashmir Himalayas.
