In Uttar Pradesh, more areas of Bareily city have been brought under curfew as the situation continued to be tense in localities which witnessed communal violence. Curfew has been extended to Subhash Nagar police station area. Officials said, the situation is tense but under control, With this curfew has been imposed in five police station areas of the city. Curfew has been imposed following largescale violence in which nearly 20 people, including an SP and some other policemen were injured. Several shops and vehicles were torched by the mob which also opened fire at a number of places in the city following which heavy force has been deployed through the district to avert further trouble.
