In Uttar Pradesh, the situation in Kanth of Moradabad is reported to be tense but totally under control.
Moradabad commissioner Shiv Shankar Singh said 62 persons including some local level BJP leaders have been arrested for rioting and damaging public property.
Besides, police has also registered a case against over three hundred unknown persons under various sections of IPC for violence, attack on police and public property and disturbing social atmosphere.
The road between Kanth Haridwar has been opened and vehicles are plying on it. Rail traffic on Haridwar-Saharanpur route via Moradabad was restored after 22 hours.
Additional divisional railway manager Hitendra Malhotra told reporters that for now, things were normal and police have assured there was adequate patrolling on the rail route.
The BJP workers had damaged the railway tracks on Friday during clash with the police in which over 36 persons were injured.
Meanwhile Moradabad DM Chandrakant, who was injured in the violent protests on Friday, has been referred to Chennai for his eyesight treatment.
