Situation returning to normal in Assam

In Assam, day curfew has been relaxed in Dhubri district today. Official sources say town curfew has been relaxed at Dhubri town for eight hours from nine to five hours while in rest of the areas of Dhubri and Bilasipara it is from 6am to 6pm. People have resumed to normal works in the district. Army and Para-military forces are maintaining a strict vigil to maintain law and order situation.

Meanwhile, one person who was injured in the grenade blast yesterday evening at Bongaigaon town succumbed to injuries in the hospital last night. Police yesterday arrested one cadre of the anti-talk faction of banned outfit ULFA in connection with the blast. Another five injured persons are undergoing treatment at Bongaigaon. State transport minister Chandan Brahma today met the injured persons in the hospital and assured all possible helps for their speedy recovery.
