The situation in the violence hit areas of Faizabad has improved. Curfew was relaxed for six hours today in Kotwali and Cantonment police station areas of the district which passed off peacefully. AIR correspondent reports following improvement in the situation, the curfew relaxation period has been extended by an hour from tomorrow. Meanwhile, centre has offered more paramilitary forces to Uttar Pradesh to deal with any untoward situation. Talking to reporters after taking over as Minister of State for Home R.P.N. Singh today said the safety and security of every citizen of this country will be his first priority.Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) president and Congress’ Faizabad MP Nirmal Khatri on Thursday demanded that the state government must deploy sufficient number of Central Para Military Force (CPMF) personnel in the trouble hit areas of Faizabad district.
