Situation in flood affected areas improves in Punjab

In Punjab, situation has improved in flood affected areas of the State but eight villages of Sangrur district are still cut off and marooned. <br/><br/>About 20 villages of Sardulgarh area of Mansa district are affected where two to three feet water is present. Reports say, 20 to 25 houses have collapsed in Mansa district. <br/><br/>Army is present there to help people and to continue rescue measures. Now, water has receded in Ghaggar river and efforts are being made to plug the breaches. <br/><br/>Meanwhile, Ministry of Home Affairs has issued an advisory to Punjab and Haryana Governments to utilise funds available in their calamity relief fund.
