In Uttar Pradesh, the situation in Greater Noida and Agra is calm but still tense. Farmers had clashed with the police in Bhatta Parsaul area on Saturday in which four persons including two police personnel had lost their lives. The farmer’s agitation had spread to some areas of Agra, Aligarh and Mathura over the land acquisition methods adopted by the Uttar Pradesh government.The Acting district Magistrate of Gautambuddhnagar Mrs Sheetal Verma told AIR this morning that the situation is completely under control and the district administration is convincing the locals to return to their homes. The state police said that, 15 companies of PAC and sufficient number of Rapid Action force have been deployed in the Bhatta Parsaul and nearby areas. Section 144 is continuing in this area and administration is not allowing outsiders.The Samjawadi party delegation led by opposition leader in Uttar Pradesh assembly shivpal Yadav and other leaders have been arrested while they were trying to reach Bhatta Parsaul village. While confirming his arrest the acting district magistrate said the Administration will not allow peace in the area to be disturbed. The state government has blamed that the protest was pre planned and it was result of nexus between local criminals and political leaders. Police sources said, that a combing operation is on to nab the Kisan sangharsh Samiti leader Manveer Singh Tewatia . The opposition BJP is also organizing a Black day in Western Uttar Pradesh today.
