However 20 lakh people are still affected in the third wave of floods. Relief materials are being distributed by the administration. <br />''<br />''Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal visited Lalpukhuri area which is affected by erosion of Buroi river and inspected the erosion protection measures in Biswanath district today. Mr. Sonowal said that several hectares of land were lost due to erosion in Assam . He said that in the last seven decades of independence, Narendra Modi was the country's first Prime Minister who took a scientific approach to find out a permanent solution to the flood and erosion problem of the North East.</span><br />
