Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has been summoned by the Special Investigation Team, SIT to appear before it on March 21 for questioning in post-Godhra riots in the state in 2002. Supreme Court-appointed SIT summoned him, following a petition by Zakia Jaffrey, widow of the late Congress MP Ehsan Jaffrey who was burnt alive in the Gulbarg Society massacre in Ahmedabad during the riots. SIT Chief R.K. Raghavan said in Ahmedabad that the team will be asking few questions to Mr Modi based on the evidence collected till now. <br/><br/>The former director of the CBI, Mr Raghavan is investigating into complaint against the Chief Minister to submit its report to the Supreme Court by April 30. Ms. Zakia Jaffrey had filed a 100-page complaint against Mr. Modi and 62 others, including his Cabinet colleagues alleging conspiracy. Our Ahmedabad Correspondent reports that large number of witnesses have already been examined and valuable material collected in this case.
