In a significant move, the Council of Boards of School Education, COBSE, has unanimously agreed on a common curriculum for Science and Maths at senior secondary level by 2011. At a meeting represented by 20 school boards, it was also decided that they will work towards a Common Entrance Test for admission in higher courses, including engineering and medicine by 2013. <br/> <br/>The move is aimed at bringing uniformity in the education system across the country. A task force will be set up to formulate the modalities for this common entrance examination.
