Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore Tharman Shanmugaratnam today called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. <br/><br/>Mr. Shanmugaratnam briefed the Prime Minister on the status of various bilateral cooperation initiatives, especially in the areas of Skill Development and Smart Cities.<br/>Mr Modi recalled his successful visit to Singapore in November last year, during which the bilateral relationship was upgraded to a strategic partnership. <br/><br/>He said that he is keenly looking forward to the visit of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong to India in the near future. <br/><br/>Mr Modi also conveyed his condolences on the sad demise of former President S. R. Nathan. He said, that Singapore has lost one of its great sons.<br/>
