Singapore claimed both the men's and women's titles of the 19th Commonwealth Table Tennis Championships in New Delhi wednesday. They defeated Indian men 0-3 and the hosts settled for a silver medal in the team event. In the first match, Singapore's Jian Zhan defeated Soumyajit Ghosh 13-11,11-8, 11-3. In the second match, Hu Lee beat Achant Sharath Kamal 11-4, 11-4, 11-9. In the third and final match, Liyang Ma beat Sanil Shetty 11-8, 9-11, 8-11,11-9, 11-7. In the women's event also, Singapore thrashed England 3-0to bag their maiden gold medal.
